According to Germanic mythology, Thor wields a hammer and is believed to be the god of thunder, oak tree, lightning, strength, and storms. Thor was known as the "Protector of Man". His courage and sense of duty are unshakeable, and his physical strength is virtually unmatched. His most famous possession, was his hammer, Mjöllnir (“Lightning”). Only rarely does he go anywhere without it. Just as thunder was the embodiment of Thor, lightning was the embodiment of his hammer slaying giants as he rode across the sky in his goat-drawn chariot. He is ever-vigilant protecting against the forces of chaos, destruction, and entropy.
